I-League clubs have set up the I-League Professional Football Clubs Association (IPFCA), with the intent to collectively work together to popularise and raise the standards of Indian Football, on Saturday at a meeting in Vasco.

The main purpose of setting up the association is to promote the I-League, help new clubs to formulate in a professional manner and eventually try to make the league profitable for its stakeholders.

The association wants the I-League to operate as a separate entity as per AFC regulations and other issues such as the league calendar and releasing players for the national team are also popular topics put up for discussion by the clubs.

The office bearers of the association are as follows: President - RAJ Gomes (Salgaocar), Vice-presidents - Debashish Dutta (Mohun Bagan), Alokesh Banarjee (Mohun Bagan), Armando Colaco (Dempo); treasurer - Victor Fernandes (Sporting Clube de Goa); secretary - Chirag Tanna (Pune FC); members - Nawab Bhattacharya (Prayag), Macario Rodrigues (Churchill Brothers) and Bharat Thapa (Air India).
